• What: The text prompts you choose to analyze using Promptimize
• How: Sent to our server for AI analysis
• Storage: Processed in real-time and NOT permanently stored on our servers

2. Usage Information

• What: Anonymous usage statistics (number of analyses, timestamps)
• How: Automatically collected via session ID
• Storage: Stored locally in your browser and temporarily on our servers
• Purpose: To improve the product and understand usage patterns

3. Email Address (Optional)

• What: Your email address (only if you choose to provide it)
• How: You voluntarily enter it in the extension after your 3rd use
• Storage: Stored in ConvertKit (our email service provider)
• Purpose: To send you educational content about prompt engineering

How We Use Your Information

Prompts

• Sent to Cerebras AI for analysis
• Analyzed in real-time to provide feedback
• Temporarily stored in memory for analytics (last 1,000 analyses only)
• Automatically cleared when server restarts - not permanently saved to database
• Never shared with third parties except our AI provider (Cerebras)

Email Addresses

• Added to our ConvertKit mailing list
• Used to send weekly educational emails about prompt engineering
• Tagged to identify you as a Promptimize user
• NEVER sold or shared with third parties
• You can unsubscribe anytime

Usage Statistics

• Analyze product performance and usage patterns
• Improve the extension and user experience
• Aggregated and anonymized for reporting

Cerebras AI

• Purpose: Analyzes your prompts using AI
• Data Shared: Your prompt text
• Privacy Policy: cerebras.ai/privacy

ConvertKit

• Purpose: Manages our email newsletter
• Data Shared: Your email address (if you subscribe)
• Privacy Policy: convertkit.com/privacy

Railway

• Purpose: Hosts our backend server
• Data Shared: Server logs, request metadata

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage (Your Browser)

• Usage count, session ID, and analysis history stored locally
• Stored using Chrome's secure storage API
• Only accessible by the Promptimize extension
• Deleted if you uninstall the extension

Server Storage

• Prompts are NOT permanently stored
• Email addresses stored in ConvertKit
• Usage statistics stored temporarily

Security Measures

• All data transmitted over HTTPS encryption
• API keys secured in environment variables

Extension Permissions

Promptimize requests minimal permissions:

• Storage: To save your preferences and usage count locally
• ActiveTab: To access ChatGPT's text input for "Use This Prompt" feature
• Host Access: Only chat.openai.com and chatgpt.com (ChatGPT only)

Data Retention

• Prompts: Temporarily stored in memory (last 1,000 analyses), automatically cleared on server restart, never saved to permanent database
• Email Addresses: Kept until you unsubscribe
• Usage Statistics: Anonymized and retained for product improvement
• Local Browser Data: Kept until you clear extension data or uninstall

Children's Privacy

Promptimize is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

International Users

Promptimize is hosted in the United States. If you are using Promptimize from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. By using Promptimize, you consent to this transfer.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Promptimize after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Cookies and Tracking

Promptimize does NOT use cookies or tracking technologies. We do not track your browsing activity outside of your explicit use of the Promptimize button in ChatGPT.

This Privacy Policy applies only to Promptimize. We may provide links to third-party services (like Cerebras or ConvertKit), which have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
